Analysis business model of state banks in Ukraine

State banks form the core banking system of Ukraine. The strategy of each bank provides an optimal business model for achieving strategic goals using the competitive advantage of the organization. Such models are state-owned banks should be determined on the basis of the approved strategy of the institution, offers products and services and the segmentation of assets, liabilities, revenues and profits, according to reports. Based on the analysis the similarity of business models of state banks of universal type with a focus on corporate clients, which leads to partial loss of uniqueness in terms of competitive advantage in the market. The presence of competition between state-owned banks in the same business segments and even in uniform programs can be seen as the ineffectiveness of short-sighted policy of the state as the owner. It was found that state banks follow the general trend in reduction of branch network, along with it in its clusters of these branches is the weak link in terms of fee income, but are very effective to attract savings. The business model of the state bank should show a higher level of specialization in implementing national programs. The main area of ??improvement in Ukraine should take account of global trends such as the development of multi-channel marketing system (eg via digital platforms), improving IT systems. However, this requires additional costs in the short term, while increasing the efficiency can be achieved over a longer period. To Ukreximbank key areas need to be a radical reduction in the branch network and the closure of retail business (through bank restructuring — output in a separate banking institution or sale to another bank) and decision functions of Development Bank.
