New patterns and trends in the development of international trade in the global economy

The article deals with topical issues of trade development in the world as a whole by continents and regions within continents, as well as by groups of countries with different levels of economic development. Based on the analysis of changes in the volumes of exports and imports, nine features of the development of the world market are identified, resulting in an eightfold increase in exports of goods and twelvefold services over 36 years. The estimation of changes in the volume of trade under the influence of the financial crisis of 2008-2010 is given both in the whole world and the G7 group, as well as in China and India as the countries with the largest population. The dynamics of foreign trade balance for the poorest, developing and developed countries (10 countries 2 in each group) is estimated. Information is given on the openness of the economy of the regions of the world, as well as on the integration into the global markets of countries with different levels of economic development. A new index which makes it possible to evaluate the performance of foreign affiliates of MNCs is proposed. The data on the dependence of the economies of 23 developing and transitive countries on the export of raw materials, as well as on changes in the structure of exports of its main components at the world level, are given. Some new regularities of different groups of Global Co-development countries are identified on the basis of this research.
