Ventur barometer of the EdTech market

The article reveals the essence of the category “venture barometer” and shows what role it plays in determining the EdTech market trends. An analytical review of dynamics of financial allocations in educational technological decisions by years and promising directions is carried out. The importance of the geographical factor that divided the global market of educational equipment and software into regions is highlighted. The countries that own the largest number of startup centers and top-ranking companies that dominate the number of investment inflows into the EdTech market are identified. Using the “venture barometer” when looking at the educational technology market makes it possible to outline the investment priorities that will dominate in the coming years, in particular the educational market for robots, Wi-Fi and digital education for the new generation, blockchain, Internet stuff, predictive analytics and data, adaptive training, proxying and privacy enhancing technologies. It is proved that the Ukrainian education market does not stand aside from global innovative technological trends. The national startup projects in the field of big data, VR and AR, InTeLa Education have become the most successful ones. Besides, Ukrainians started their own initiatives and formed a group of IT companies that are exporting software code abroad. The author proposes measures that will help Ukrainian technology companies to compete successfully in the education market. Priority among them is to reduce the tax burden, to protect the rights of investors by public authorities and reinforce them by the relevant legislative initiatives, reinvesting in the EdTech sector the proceeds from the previous investing through the revision of the draft law on taxes on withdrawn capital, the creation of information support for venture capital, the establishment of a state innovative fund for education, the development of educational Ukrainian technology companies and the construction of a well-known brand of national education technology industry.
