Article requirements

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSIONS TO THE JOURNAL “FINANCE OF UKRAINE”

When submitting a manuscript to the journal, authors shall confirm its correspondence to all the requirements below. In case of non-compliance, the editorial board has the right to return the materials to the authors for revision.

  • The author ensures that the submitted article has not been published before and is not submitted for reviewing to another journal.
  • The author is responsible for the authenticity, novelty and accuracy of research results, factual and digital information, proper names, geographical names, citations as well as other data.
  • The author ensures the absence of plagiarism in any form, including excessive citation, incomplete quotations, paraphrases, etc.
  • The author ensures permissions for copyrighted material to be used in the article, and, in the case of the use of fragments of works or borrowing of statements of other authors, the availability of relevant bibliographic references to initial sources.
  • The author is responsible for the accurate list of the submission’s co-authors, sequencing of their listing and the accuracy of all co-authors’ data (surname, initials, academic title and degree, place of work (or study), position, town, country, e-mail, ORCID ID). He/she also ensures the absence of the clashing interests that may affect the results of the study or their interpretation.
  • The author is acknowledged of and agrees with the terms of the Licensing Agreement for the use of creative work.
  • The author grants permission to access his/her personal data (name, academic degree, academic title, honorary title, place of work, position, e-mail address) and use them to maintain the process of publishing articles on the site, operation, support and maintenance of the journal’s web site.
  • All submissions shall correspond to the requirements of the journal in content and format.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

While selecting articles for publication, the editorial board will pay special attention to their relevance to the thematic area of the journal as well as to the compliance with the established requirements to structure and content.

Articles in Ukrainian and English are accepted for publication in the journal. Materials published in the journal are subject to mandatory review.

Materials are to be sent to the editorial board by e-mail: fin-ukr@ukr.net.

All articles are subject to independent secure review.

Publication of articles is free of charge. Honoraria are not paid.

SUBMISSION OF MATERIALS TO THE EDITORIAL BOARD

Publications are submitted digitally on the e-mail address of the editorial board (fin-ukr@ukr.net) and include (in separate doc, docx files) the following main components:

1. Full version of the manuscript of the article with metadata (authors, ORCID, institution, article title, abstract and keywords; the text of the article; bibliography in the original language as well as References).

2. Manuscript of the article for review (without metadata, which are provided in a separate file to ensure the opportunity for blind review).

3. Translation of the article into Ukrainian (technical translation), if the article is submitted in English.

4. Metadata of the article, which include (given successively in Ukrainian, English and Russian) information about the author(s) of the article, its abstract and contain the following:

  • Title of the article ( in Ukrainian, English and Russian).
  • Abstract ( in Ukrainian, English and Russian) of 1800 to 2000 characters, which in fact is a synopsis of the article, its summary.
  • Information about all the co-authors of the article  (in Ukrainian and Russian – full name, patronymic as indicated in the passport, in English – name and surname as the author is registered (cited) in international scientometric databases or as given in the passport); academic title and academic degree; honorary title; place of work (or study); town; country; e-mail; contact phone number; ORCID ID);
  • Key words (in Ukrainian, English and Russian, 5 – 8 words);
  • UDC index as well as JEL Classіfіcatіon code

5. Licensing agreement for the use of creative work, signed by all co-authors (the form of the Licensing Agreement is posted on the journal’s website (folder “Authors”). The Licensing Agreement enters into force soon after the article  is accepted for publication. By signing the Licensing Agreement the authors prove to be acknowledged with the terms of the Agreement and conform to them.

6. Permission to access the authors’ personal data and use them to maintain publishing articles, as well as to operate, ensure technical support and maintain the journal’s website.

The permission must be signed by all the co-authors (the form of permission to access personal data is posted on the journal’s website (folder “Authors”).

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ARTICLE TEXT

1. The article shall be relevant to the thematic area of the journal, be topical, contain the results of the original theoretical or experimental research and substantiation of scientific conclusions.

2. The text of the article should be carefully reviewed and include the following basic elements (following the given sequence and indicating the appropriate title, highlighted in bold), namely:

  • Introduction (statement of the problem in general and its connection with recent research and publications, as well as with important scientific and practical tasks, with mandatory references in the text to the literature used. The author is to highlight the part of the general problem that he/she researches, and to prove its relevance).
  • Analysis of research and task setting (laying down the aim and methods of researching the topic under consideration).
  • Methodology and research methods (description of the methodology and research methods used to obtain the scientific results presented in the article).
  • Research outcomes (presentation of the principal research material with substantiation of the obtained scientific outcomes).
  • Conclusions (scientific novelty, theoretical and practical significance of research, socio-economic effect achieved as a result of implementing scientific outcomes; prospects for further research in this area)
  • List of sources used in the original language, compiled in accordance with the Ukrainian standard of bibliographic description DSTU 8302: 2015.
  • References (translation of literature sources into English according to the international bibliographic standard APA-2010).
  • Information on research funding and appreciation (if necessary, information on the organization or individual with whose support the research was conducted; it is also possible to indicate other persons who participated in the research; referring to the source of research funding, be sure to indicate the name of the foundation , grant (research topic) name and number.

3. At the beginning of the article the following information is given in Ukrainian, English and Russian in the given sequence

  • Initials and the surname(s) of the author(s) as well as ORCID of each;
  • Institution’s official name;
  • UDC index, specified in the tables of the Universal Decimal Classification;the title of the article, which should be short, accurately reflect the content of the article, not contain abbreviations and phrases such as “Some issues…”, “To the problem…”, “Researching the issue…”, etc .;
  • Abstract to the article in the amount of 1800-2000 characters. The abstract is to be structured, concise, informative, reflecting the coherence of presenting the outcomes, describing the main purpose of the study and summarizing the most significant results. It is necessary to highlight and indicate the following structural parts: Introduction, Problem Statement, Purpose, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusions;

At the end of the abstract, the number of formulas, tables, figures and literary sources should be indicated as follows: for the Ukrainian language);

  • Keywords – from 5 to 8 words;
  • JEL Classification code, defined according to the classification system developed by the Journal of Economic Literature.

4. Total volume of the article should not exceed 20 A4 pages, typed in MS Word editor in Times New Roman font, 14 point, 1.5 intervals, all margins – 2 cm. Do not use text styles  in the file, words should be typed without hyphenation. The volume of the article does not include a list of used sources and References.

5. The presentation of the article is to be clear, structured, not overloaded with graphic information, tables and formulas, to avoid repetition in the text of the information contained in the tables or illustrations (at the same time analytical commentary to it should be provided). Non-text information should be used only when it significantly improves the content of the article, allows you to understand it more fully and more deeply than the textual presentation.

6. All statistics data, tables, illustrations, quotations given in the text of the article should be supported by references in square brackets to the numbers of sources from the bibliography indicating the pages to which the author refers (for example: [1, p. 25]; [2, pp. 46–48]). When mentioning any names of the authors, it is necessary to provide references to their works. References to obsolete publications, educational and popular science literature and own publications are undesirable (the latter are allowed only in case of urgent need). In order to increase the scientific level of the article, reference should be made mainly to foreign scientific sources as well as national publications provided by the leading international scientometric databases (SCOPUS, WEB OF SCIENS, etc.), as well as publications included in group A of the list of professional publications in Ukraine.

7. The list of sources used is given at the end of the article and includes only the publications mentioned in the text, in the order of references to them in the text of the article. All sources should be given in the original language, without translation. The bibliographic description must be prepared in accordance with the requirements of the National Standard of Ukraine (DSTU 8302: 2015: Bibliographic reference. General provisions and rules of compilation. Kyiv, 2016).

8. References – a list of used sources, translated into English and layed down in accordance with the international bibliographic standard APA-2010, is given after the list of sources given in the Ukrainian language.

9. All tables and figures should be compact, logically constructed, have a serial number according to their location in the text, a short clear caption that accurately covers the topic and content, symbols and units of measurement of all indicators separated by commas, as well as references to the source of information from which they are borrowed or on the basis of which they are built (otherwise indicated that they are compiled by the author ). To present the source the font Times New Roman, 12 points (font size) is to be used. All data in the table should be typed in Times New Roman font, 12 points. Tables should not extend beyond page margins.

10. Figures should be additionally submitted as separate files of the format in which they were built (for example, if the illustrations are made in Corel Draw, you need to provide files in * .cdr format; if the illustrations are scanned – in * .tif format, etc.).

11. Non-textual objects should be created with built-in Word tools, formulas exclusively using the MathType editor, charts, graphs – Microsoft Excel. Corresponding files in this format should be attached to the main article file. It should be borne in mind that the journal is black and white, so all graphic objects should be qualitatively and clearly displayed in shades of grey. When creating charts, graphs and a set of formulas, font Times New Roman, 14 point is to be used.

12. The scientific editorial board carries out internal and external review of the article. In case of a negative review, the article may be returned to the author for revision or rejected. Articles with deviations from these requirements will not be considered by the editors. The editors have the right to reduce and edit the articles.

Publications of the journal are protected by national and international law and may not be reproduced in any form without the permission of the publisher.
