Derivatives exchange market in Ukraine: the history, the present, and future development

Evolution of the terminal market in Ukraine within the context of global trends is investigated in paper. It is emphasized that in Ukraine terminal market began to emerge as an exchange immediately with a predominance of speculative motives. The dynamics of the terminal market at exchange segment both in the world and in Ukraine is analyzed. As well, main trends and problem issues of the domestic derivatives market functioning are outlined. Based on provided analysis the suggestions concerning improvement of the domestic derivatives market are developed. It is defined the main strategic directions of the domestic derivatives market development, in particular: extension of the terminal market tools; automation and modernization of the domestic trade infrastructure, development of e-commerce; improving the legal regulation of an exchange market; involvement of individual investors to exchange trading.
