Public debt: a conceptual framework and macroeconomic aspects

The article investigates public debt as an effective rate of the system of public credit. It is solved the public purpose, internal features, functions and role categories of public credit. The modern concepts of public debt investigated in foreign and Ukrainian financial science are revealed. An evaluation of relationship of the public debt and the fiscal indicators in the context of fiscal sustainability and macro-financial stability is conducted. It is analyzed the relationship of the public debt and the monetary indicators, as well as the influence of debt on inflation and price sustainability in the context of ensuring monetary stability and macroeconomic equilibrium. Directions of the debt policy improvement in Ukraine are suggested
